Every month, ITAV hosts a respected expert to speak to the parent community with the support of the MVSD PTA Council. In the 2012/13 school year, speaker events will be held at different schools in Mill Valley. Please check the website to confirm locations and time.

"How To Bully Proof Your Kids"

Speaker: Nicholas Carlisle, Executive Director NoBully.com®

Student bullying and conflict are persistent challenges in every school, causing students untold suffering, marginalizing diverse youth and impacting the ability our children to succeed in their careers and future relationships.

At this workshop you will

  • Get up to speed on the ways students bully.
  • Learn how to bully-proof your child to succeed in their friendships and avoid the role of bully or target.
  • Develop skills to Solution Coach® your child through the inevitable conflicts and bullying of childhood and adolescence.
  • Join with other parents in making our school a bully-free learning community.




Monthly coffees are informal gatherings providing a forum for parents to meet, support each other and share resources.

CHALLENGER SPORTS - Red Sox Baseball

Challenger baseball is a community-based program for young athletes with physical, development and behavioral challenges.  Players, coaches and volunteer high school and middle school buddies meet to learn and play baseball in a relaxed, supportive and fun atmosphere.

Come cheer for the Red Sox! We will join the MVLL Opening Season Parade on March 23rd.  Our first practice is Sunday, March 24th at 1:30pm in Boyle Park.

SummerAde Returns for a 5th Season!

SummerAde pairs trained teen mentors with a child with mild disabilities to aid them during their week at a summer camp, helping them navigate activities, facilitate social interactions and enjoy all the day camp has to offer.  Campers and teens welcome to apply.  We hope to serve 50 children this summer in Marin day camps and are expanding to other communities.
